when i first decided to move to NYC to attend Parsons, School of Design, i knew i wanted to step into the new era in my life with a collection of art that felt like home. i designed a limited collection of bespoke hand painted and embroidered leather jackets that captured a reflection about my experiences in my childhood hometown as a final goodbye to this phase of my life.
the collection was accepted very quickly into a NYFW showroom exhibition in Soho, September 2023, and quickly took on a life on its own with interests from both buyers and stylists.
i eventually branched out into a few non leather related pieces as well, and all remaining pieces were rented out for various styling needs until a final fashion show in May 2024 where i sold the remainder of my work, and kept one jacket for myself.
this project will always be special to me because it reminds me that before ever pursuing design as a profitable career, i always loved art simply for art's sake, and this deep love for expression, beauty, and creation will always fuel every project i embrace.
